Checking in with you all on my contest prep journey
Today I am 10 weeks out from show #1, I have 3 shows back to back within weeks from each other and my body fat percentage is sitting at 13.5% today, weighing in at 116 lbs
My goal body fat percentage for bodybuilding is 5% on the day of the show and 8% for physique so I'll probably come in about 6% bodyfat on the day of the show because I'll be competing in both categories.
I'm ahead of schedule, I was evaluated today by an NPC judge, he said I look like I'm about 5 weeks out which is a great thing I love being ahead of schedule instead of trying to catch up at the last minute.
Last week, I increased my meals from 6 to 7 meals a day, but I started shredding way too quickly. I need to slow down on my shredding. Remember when your eating clean frequently throughout the day your body just start shredding.
Because I need to come in around 6% body fat on the day of my show I only need to drop a little less than 1% point of body fat a week which is a great thing. When you lean out too quickly, your skin can get very loose and you do not want to have loose skin on the day of the show. So right now I am perfect where I am at because my physique is at around 5 weeks out and I still have 10 weeks to prepare, I'll diet down super slowly to keep my skin super tight!
Here's my training split:
Monday, heavy lower body day Tuesday, Back day Wednesday, chest and shoulder Thursday, heavy lower body training again Friday, shoulders again, biceps and triceps Saturday, chest again focusing on upper chest Sunday, rest day and a one hour posing class
Abs...2 days a week, Tuesday and Thursday
Calves..3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday
One gallon of water a day, 8 hours sleep and daily stretching
I need to lay off of cardio for now so I don't jeopardize my muscle growth
Oh, I also have some past injuries that I will tell you all about tomorrow and how I am working around an abdominal hernia and severe bicep tendinitis, yes, you can work around your injuries and I'm gonna show you how
